CHURCH WEEKEND AWAY (10-12 MARCH 2006)

We are thrilled to announce that the speaker for our Church Weekend Away in March at the High Leigh Conference Centre in Hoddesdon, Herts, will be ELAINE STORKEY .

Dr Elaine Storkey is one of the most experienced writers and speakers in relating the Christian Gospel to contemporary culture. She appears regularly on Radio and Television, and writes for the Independent Newspaper (and occasionally the Guardian).

With a background in philosophy and sociology, she has many years experience of teaching in the UK and overseas. She has held visiting lectureships in the USA and lectured in many parts of Europe, Canada , Australia and New Zealand . She is also a regular speaker at conferences like Spring Harvest, New Wine, Greenbelt and Soul Survivor.

For seven years she was the Executive Director of the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity. She is also the UK President of Tear Fund, a Vice President of the University of Gloucestershire and a member of the Crown Appointments Commission.

She is the author of seven books. Her most recent publication, with the University of Salford , addresses issues of helping business leaders explore and apply Christian ethics in their work.

Elaine is currently a Senior Research Fellow at Wycliffe Hall Theological College , Oxford , a role which allows her to continue her valued wider ministry in writing, broadcasting, research and public speaking.
