| Introducing Caz Dunk |

| It
is with great pleasure that we can announce the appointment of the Rev’d
Caz Dunk as Associate Vicar with special responsibility for St James. Caz trained at Wycliffe in Oxford, was ordained in 2006 and has served as curate in Uxbridge. West London feels very much like home to Caz having lived in Acton for 17 yrs. Shortly after moving there a friend invited her to a church supper event which began a new chapter in her journey of faith. Having come to faith in Jesus as a teenager, Caz had been living the prodigal life through her 20’s, even running away to sea (a reference to her years working on cruise ships). “But,” she says, “though we may turn our backs on God He never gives up on us. His grace, love and forgiveness know no bounds. I’ve never quite gotten over how God invites us to join Him in His Kingdom work – even someone who has so messed up in the past.” |

Caz was part of a pioneer team that planted The Oak Tree Anglican Fellowship,
a new church in Acton. Initially serving as church warden, she was increasingly
placed in a leadership role, preaching and leading services, organising
Alphas and working with other churches on outreach initiatives. Volunteering
a day a week to Oak Tree led to becoming part of the staff team. “Being
a huge supporter of lay ministry, ordination wasn’t really what
I’d imagined for myself. But when I began to feel God’s
prod to explore further the doors just kept opening!”
She says of herself : “My vision for life: that all people should have the opportunity to experience the extravagant welcome of God.” As is apparent from her experience and vision, Caz longs for others to know and experience God’s loving welcome in their own lives. “It seems to me that this sense of welcome is at the heart of the St James’ community. I am looking forward to making St James my home and serving the parish, and I’m excited by the possibilities of seeing God working in and through us to touch the lives of the wider community with His extravagant welcome.” Caz is single with close family living in Sussex where she was born and raised. She is a self-confessed non-domestic goddess, but enjoys turning her hand to DIY projects given the time. Caz also enjoys cappuccinos, and vegging with friends and a good movie. |
